I'm a UI/UX designer with 3+ years of work experience in designing
complex web app solutions and taking on design challenges that
make the world a better place.
I was born in the enchanting land of Sri Lanka, often referred to as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by a few remarkable women in my family, such as my mother and aunts, who possessed incredible artistic skills in fabric painting, hand embroidery, stitching beautiful clothes, and the art of cake making, I found myself drawn to their creative pursuits from a tender age. Their talents and passion ignited a spark within me.
As a child, my imagination soared, and I eagerly ventured into various creative endeavors. Growing up in my hometown, I was blessed with the presence of a stunning nursery that immersed me in the beauty of nature, fostering my ability to think creatively. One particular spot held a special place in my heart: a majestic Night-Flowering Jasmine tree. During breaks, I would gather its delicate blossoms and skillfully craft jewellery, indulging my artistic instincts.
Music became a gateway to another realm of creativity for me. As I listened to melodies, my mind conjured up vivid and breathtaking scenes, surpassing even those portrayed in films. This imaginative journey continued into my teenage years, where I found joy in envisioning captivating scenarios that captivated my imagination.
Among my friends and relatives, my creative spirit gained recognition, and I became known as the one with an innate talent for bringing ideas to life. The fusion of my surroundings, the influence of creative family members, and the captivating power of music all played a pivotal role in shaping me into the creative individual I am today.
Embarking on a transformative journey, I sought to turn my creative skills into a rewarding career. After finishing secondary education, I pursued my passion for creative design and technology, merging artistry with practicality for success in today’s job market.
Unexpectedly, life led me down a thrilling path as I wholeheartedly embraced a bachelor’s degree in IT. This delightful twist opened new doors, merging my passions and paving the way for an exciting future.
Captivated by the allure of jewelry design before university, I was inspired by a friend’s exquisite creation. Fueled by my passion for diverse creative pursuits, I embarked on a transformative journey at Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Research & Training Institute.
Immersed in the craft, I became an accomplished A-Grade Jewellery Designer, fueling my love for creating unique and breathtaking pieces that embody the beauty of jewelry design.
